After Aamir Khan left Varanasi, he roamed around in Chanderi for two days. While he was in disguise – as part of the promotion bid for 3 Idiots – no one recognised him. Besides, it was in Chanderi that Aamir had a unexpected recall. A couple of years ago, some NGO had contacted him regarding the plight of the weavers in Chanderi.
Aamir instantly called up Kareena Kapoor and asked her to catch the first flight to Bhopal the next day.Kareena was taken to Pranpur in Madhya Pradesh’s Chanderi district. She visited the house of two weavers, Kamlesh Koli and Hukum Koli.
Aamir wants to help the weavers of the world well-known saris. And who better than fashion icon like Kareena to support him in this endeavour!
