John Abraham is not really minding the kind of attention his body has been gaining ever since the first promo of DOSTANA came online. “I am happy with that but really; this is not the first time that I have been seen in shape. Of course, I look a little different physically but then I came in the industry with a fit body. Whether it was my debut film JISM or the ones that followed after it, I was thankfully always in shape. But yes, response to DOSTANA has been extraordinary. Now is the time for me to move on to the next level when it comes to getting the right physique”, concludes John.

He might not have the ‘must have’ six pack abs nor the raw sex appeal, but there is one thing that Abhishek Bachchan boasts about and that is- right attitude. The actor who seems to be fully clothed compared to his gay partner john Abraham in their upcoming flick ‘Dostana’ says his character does not do take off shirts like John but carries lugs of attitude. In an industry where six pack abs have become the basic fad, Junior Bachchan has often faced flak for his flabby frame. Nevertheless the actor seems unperturbed and is in no hurry to loose those extra kilos. Retorting to allegations that it was his bulky frame that forced the directors to leave clothes on him, the actor said, “My director just didn’t want me to show skin. What to do? My role didn’t require me to expose… But that’s fine. John’s the bod, I’m the attitude, you see!” As per plans for hitting the gym, the actor feels no such need for any image makeover as of now and is pretty much happy with his family pack. “No, not yet, I’m doing pretty well with my family pack actually… No director has asked me to achieve a six-pack for a film. But if required, I’d be very happy to do so”, he said.

Well, all we have to say is that when Ash could not coax her hubby into reducing the bulge then what can the filmmakers do?

Who would not like to hold curvaceous babe Shilpa Shetty very close onscreen and off-screen? But there is one person, who gave the slip to ‘Miss Bollywood’. You must have seen the hot and happening ‘Shut Up And Bounce’ track from Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana’, in which svelte Shilpa Shetty is seen romancing Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. Well, according to well-placed sources, the shooting of the film was equally happening with lot of heat, sweat and ‘slipping’. Sources say that during the shoot, Shilpa had to put her arms around John but he had put so much sunblock on his bare body that her hands kept on slipping from him. In an interview to a news daily, director Tarun Mansukhani said, “We all put on lots of sun block on because it was sunny and we didn’t want to tan too much. One day, John put on so much sunblock that in the shot where he’s taking pictures of Shilpa on the bike, Shilpa couldn’t put her arms around him. She kept slipping and falling!” Shilpa added, “John had so much oil on him and every time I put my hand on his abs I would fall! I literally fell for John! I slipped and ended on my knees every time because he was chikna and slippery. Finally, I told him to wipe off some off the oil. But I’ve never seen anyone looking so hot as John.I would keep telling him ‘John, please go away you look so good that nobody’s looking at me.John’s got the hottest body.“We would work out a lot together at the same gym which was in the Miami hotel where we were staying.

After Dhoom, John Abraham teams up with Abhishek Bachchan once again in Dostana and says they have developed such an incredible rapport that he simply dotes on his co-star. Abhishek is not a co-star or a colleague. He’s a friend. I dote on him. I love him to death. We never compete. We complement each other in ‘Dostana’. We share a great chemistry. Abhishek and I are a couple in the film. John and Abhishek, who get along like a house on fire on the sets of Dostana, regret that they had to shoot the Maa da ladla music video for the movie separately.The film is being produced by Karan Johar and is being directed by Tarun Mansukhani. Mansukhani said it was a conscious decision to have Abhishek and John shoot the song separately. They shot individually so the masti of the rest of the movie was missing on the sets. But I deliberately didn’t shoot the song with John and Abhishek together. I wanted at least this one song to look different from the rest of the film where they’re constantly together, fooling around and chumming it up. This is a music video which we’ll use for promotion and probably for the end titles, Mansukhani said.

John Abraham will not only be acting in filmmaker Abbas Tyrewala’s second venture 1-800-Love after the hit Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, he will also be co-producing it.1-800-Love is a quirky, witty and savagely funny look at the man-woman relationship and writer-director Abbas roped in John for the project, after having worked with chocolate boy Imran Khan in his debut film.The filmmaker, who’s still polishing up the movie’s script, says John decided to jump in as a producer the minute he heard the narration.”After hearing the narration, John not only loved the script, he wanted to come on as a partner. So, effectively, the project will have three producers - Madhu K., John and myself,” said Abbas. Incidentally, 1-800-Love gets its title from the toll-free phone numbers in the US.John, who’s currently shooting in New York for Kabeer Khan’s film on terrorism entitled New York, is now looking out for roles that would challenge him as an actor.

After Anurag Kashyap’s No Smoking and Nagesh Kukunoor’s to-be-released Aashayein, Abbas seems to be the director John needed to get his creative juices flowing. Abbas’ movie is set to be shot in Boston in April in a start-to-finish schedule and the filmmaker has now headed for the hills to write the final draft of the script, a source close to him said.

The actress has walked herself to safe distance from Bipasha’s baby John Abraham and is declining to do any films with the macho actor.Even as John dared to snub girlfriend Bipasha’s pleas demanding him not to work with Vidya and signed a film featuring the heavy weight actress, his daring act proved futile as the dusky beauty refused to be a part of the film.According to Spicezee sources, John was all set to romance Vidya onscreen in David Dhawan’s forthcoming ‘Hook Ya Crook’. The film that is touted to be a comic caper was going to bring together the much famous ‘Salaam-E-Ishq’ couple, but the plans went haywire as Vidya decided to opt out of the flick quoting unsubstantial role as reasons for her refusal to do the film.A news daily even quoted a source as saying “Vidya is not doing UTV’s ‘Hook Ya Crook’. Vidya felt that after Salaam-e-Ishq, she and John needed to do a film, which had substantial roles for both.

She voiced her concern to the director who promised to make changes in her role. Vidya wants to do more women-oriented roles.”However, insiders are of the opinion that it’s Bipasha that is real reason behind Vidya’s refusal. After their earlier episode, Vidya no longer wants to pick fights with the feisty Bips.

Bollywood hunk John Abraham flaunts his bold body in Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana. He shows off his sexiest image and looks too hot and daring. Though John has a wooing physique, rarely he gets to exhibit his baring side. Tarun has successfully showcased John’s appealing factor and mostly dressed him in bare body with short pants. Speaking about his yellow swimming suit, John remarked, “Well, I think that they fit well. Karan and I sat down and discussed the exact trunk that I’d be wearing. We looked at some black-colored ones but decided to go with the yellow one. The fact that we shot in Miami has something to do with the color. It’s a vibrant, fun place and my styling was done keeping that in mind.”

Since John hails from a modeling background, he does not feel uncomfortable wearing revealing costume. He is quite excited about his roles as he is playing a very interesting character of a gay person. Abhishek Bachchan is his partner and Priyanka Chopra is the gal behind whom the two actors run.

Speaking about his comfortable level with Abhishek, he said, “I think after Dostana, everyone will call us the next Shah Rukh-Kajol. He isn’t just a co-star or a friend but it goes much beyond that. He’s a great human being and fun to work with. Of course, not to forget Priyanka who compliments us both.”

The Aishwarya Rai-John Abraham jodi seems jinxed. They were to be paired in Karan Johar’s Dostana. Rai opted out because she wasn’t convinced about the part. Now another project where John and Ash were supposed to co-star has fallen through.Sriram Raghavan’s Happy Birthday, which the director described as an intensely romantic subject, has for all practical purposes been shelved. The film has a rather craggy history. It was earlier to be produced by Gaurang Doshi, then it passed on to Rohan Sippy. But then Sriram had not finished the script and Aishwarya’s dates couldn’t be worked out in time.Not she is busy with Shankar’s Robot and then Mani Ratnam’s film (starts in October) so it is unlikely that Happy Birthday will be made now or in the near future.Sridhar Raghavan has now moved on to another project. “I’m now focusing on Agent Vinod which Saif will produce and star in. Hopefully, I’ll return to Happy Birthday at some point of time. I love the subject. Ideally, I’d like to make it with the same pair.”

But John and Aishwarya coming together now appears in the realm of the impossible. Meanwhile, John and Aish-warya’s hubby Abhishek (in Dostana) are the hotter pair.

John strikes another goal, defeats Salman Khan this time!

Bollywood’s infamous Khan, Salman has another name emblazoned in his hit list nowadays. After Vivek Oberoi and Shah Rukh Khan it is John Abraham who will have to face the loathing of Bollywood’s muscle man, Salman. John had recently bagged an endorsement deal of an international energy drink. The big news is that the ad was initially proposed to Salman, but due to some date problems the actor kept it on a long hold. All thanks’ to his domineering attitude, and hiking prices the producer approached John who promptly accepted the offer.The officials of the energy drink were in a hurry and wanted to begin the promotional campaigns soon. They had nitially planned on shooting the commercials with Salman. But, Sallu had no time as he was busy shooting for ‘London Dreams’ and ‘Yuvraj’. His date diaries were apparently jam packed!
However, the producers of the ad campaign approached the actor for an adjustment but to their surprise Salman quoted an even higher price. The annoyed officials then approached John and had him sign the deal at a much lower price than what Salman had been offered and hence Sallu was miffed with John.
Guess what’s Salman’s take on all this? The actor feels that the brand officials showed lack of professionalism. Now look who is talking!
Anyway, forget the deal, John has definitely bagged a high alert situation!

Is John Abraham wary of off-beat films?

It seems John Abraham has become wary of offbeat films after No Smoking (2007), in which he played the lead did poorly at the box-office.Touted as John’s most challenging and emotional film, Aashayien’s release has been postponed, again. Directed by Nagesh Kukunoor, Aashayein was slated for release in the first half of July 2008, but was yanked off unexpectedly.Producer Elahi Hiptoolah cited the reason that John was busy with his brother, Alan Abraham’s wedding. Aashayein will now be released a couple of months down the line, on November 28.The surprise here is that John’s mainstream and commercial film Dostana is slated for release two weeks before Aashayein.Says John, “It isn’t important to just be part of good meaningful cinema. It is also essential to make sure that the film is marketed and released well. There’s no point in doing the kind of cinema you believe in, unless you can get enough people to share the belief with you.

One of John’s friends reveals, “John was highly disappointed with the way No Smoking was released and received. John had worked very hard for the character.He is still proud of the film but feels that it got a raw deal. He won’t allow the same to be repeated with Aashayein. In fact, he feels that a small and intimate film like Aashayein where he has his career’s best role just ahead of Dostana will work positively for Aashayein.He is hoping that such a release will generate enough interest among the audiences to pull them to watch Aashayein.”Telling us about John’s current whereabouts, his friends adds, “At the moment John is shooting for Kabeer Khan’s film New York in, well, New York, of course.”Says Hiptoolah, “Aashayein has been moved to November 28 because that’s when both John and Nagesh will be here to promote the film.”
