Salman, Ash end up doing same thing

Salman Khan has a steady girlfriend in Katrina Kaif and Aishwarya Rai (now Aishwarya Bachchan) is happily married to Abhishek Bachchan.

They haven’t been seen together ever since the bitter split but they never run out of news. This time around, both Salman and Ash have ended up doing the same thing.

Well, Salman had said not long ago that his girlfriend Katrina could never work with Vivek Oberoi, who he held responsible for breakup with Ash. And as expected, Katrina is said to have refused to act with Vivek.

Interestingly, Aishwarya has done something similar. The news is doing the rounds that Abhishek has turned down an offer for a new film by Yash Raj Films starring Rani Mukherjee and Shahid Kapoor because of Ash. It is said that Ash don’t want to see Abhishek with his ex flame Rani.

Well, Salman is controlling the moves of his girlfriend while Ash does the same to her hubby!

Sonu Nigam likes Salman Khan’s body

Singer Sonu Nigam is so impressed with Bollywood star Salman Khan’s well-toned body that he urged the actor, who has often exposed his six-pack abs on screen, to flaunt his well-built legs too. Sonu, who is a fitness freak himself and took initial lessons of exercising from the actor, said: “I started my fitness lessons with Salman. It is during that time that I saw him exercising and found his legs in perfect shape with perfect muscles.” “We are familiar with his perfect six-pack abs and the upper body muscles, but fans have yet to see his muscular legs, which are so perfect. I think he should expose his legs too, which he has not done often,” Sonu added. Sonu was speaking at a function held here recently to celebrate the success of the music of “Yuvvraaj”. Releasing Friday, the movie has Salman in the lead role. Reacting to Sonu’s statement, Salman said: “I have done it on a few occasions, but not too often. If need arises and there is a demand, I would surely do it. But, it has to be done by keeping the Indian sensibilities in mind,” the actor remarked.

Salman Khan returns to his enemy

There are many Bollywood actors who are not media-friendly and Salman Khan is one of them. He had had many nasty encounters with the journalists in the past but that doesn’t mean that he hates them. Maybe it all started because the media wanted too much of him.Salman has not been so open to the media like this time around. He has been promoting his latest film Yuvvraaj like never before and he is in great shape. The fact that his girlfriend Katrina Kaif is with him in the film seems to have added more pressure. But the matured actor knows exactly what he does. He said that he loves the media while the media hates him.He blamed the media for the whole mess and misunderstanding. He said that the media hated him for not appearing before the camera and refusing to speak on some topics. He added that cooked up stories began to appear and spoiled everything. He however maintained that it was an unfair fight and that he loves the media.Well, let’s hope Salman have rapport with the media from now on!

Bipasha collects what Salman dumps

It was reported that Salman Khan would be performing on the 31st night at Sahara Star. It is said that Sahara had approached Salman to perform for the New Year’s Eve and he agreed for a price of Rs.3 crores. Arbaaz, Sohail and Malaika would also perform with him.However, the latest we hear is that Salman is out of the event and Bipasha Basu has been asked to perform in his place for the New Years Eve. It is said that the sponsors could not afford Salman’s price. In spite of having several discussions with Salman for the last ten days over the price Salman did not agree to compromise on his price.Actually it is said that the sponsors had made a deal of Rs.3.5 crores with the organisers, therefore they had agreed to pay Salman the said amount but after lots of talks they finally agreed to pay Salman the price of Rs.2 crores on which Salman refused flatly. Whether brothers Arbaaz, Sohail and Malaika would still perform or not is unknown.

In all it is said that Bipasha has been convinced to perform with a price of Rs.1 crore, whereas last year she had performed at J.W. Mariott for just Rs.90 lakhs for a 30 minute performance.

Salman vies for SRK camp member Rahul Gandhi

The infamous SRK-Salman spat, which left Bollywood divided, has now moved beyond filmdom into the ever so fluctuating political waters with each trying to lure political bigwigs. The war between the two czars is getting political and we mean that literally. With charismatic personalities and celeb aura, the two Khans have plenty of friends outside the Bollywood circle. While Sallu has been infamous for exercising his political connections to get out of tight spots, Shah Rukh Khan on the other hand has been very public about his good rapport with the first political family of the nation, the Gandhis. Whether it’s the IPL matches or the special screening of his films; Rahul Ganhi, his sister Priyanka and her hubby Robert Vadhera have made their presence felt and in turn have been accorded VVIP treatment. But looks like, the Gandhis have switched sides now. At the marriage reception pasrty of Milind Deora and Pooja Shetty, Rahul Gandhi was spotted getting along jolly well with SRK’s archrival Salman Khan.

A news daily quoted an eyewitness as saying, “Shah Rukh is very close to the Shettys and had come to bless the newly wedded couple with wife Gauri, and friend Karan Johar. Salman was present with his group of people. Rahul spent most of his time chatting with Sallu’s group. He did exchange pleasantries with Gauri and spoke to Khan for a few minutes but the majority of his time was spent with the ‘other’ Khan.

While the two Khans continued to ignore each other at the party, Salman was once again heard filling the guests ears with all kinds of talk against King Khan. Sallu kept the guest entertained by talking of SRK’s initial struggling years and how he had provided a roof to King Khan.

It looks like Salman just can’t get over the past and move on. Be it the love of his life Aishwarya Rai or friend turned foe Shah Rukh; it seems Sallu just can’t live and let live.

Salman doesn’t know who SRK is

There seems to be no end to the bitter spat between Salman Khan and Shahrukh Khan. Just when things were looking good Salman has again taken a dig at King Khan. In an interview with a foreign magazine when quizzed about Shahrukh Khan to everyone’s shock Salman asked “Who is SRK? I have never heard of him before”Salman did not even spare his eternal enemy Vivek Oberoi either and called him an ‘idiot’ who would stand next to the celebrities to get his photograph clicked. His only praise turned out to be for the Bachchan family and he said he loved pairing with Amitabh Bachchan in Baghban and Baabul and also working in a flick with Abhishek Bachchan.
Well Salman it seems is having serious memory lapse or else he would have who known Shahrukh Khan is. If not for his status in the industry certainly for the spat he had with him during Katrina Kaif’s birthday bash.

Katrina refuses to work with Salman’s jaani dushman Viveik!

Salman’s ladylove Katrina Kaif is packed with new releases and much to everyone’s surprise, she has readily agreed to work with Salman’s friend turned foe Shah Rukh Khan. But, she does have some exceptions. The long-legged beauty had recently sternly refused to work with Sallu’s jaani dushman Viveik Oberoi.Well, so what’s weird is the ‘fact’ that the reason of all the hullabaloo, chaos is none other than Sallu’s ex-flame, the Bachchan bahu Aishwarya Rai Bachchan. So it seems, Katrina did really seek permission prior to nodding a ‘yes’ for the SRK project. And, this is what Kats had to say in an interview to a news daily, “See, whatever happened was between the two of them. I wasn’t involved. Both have come out in the open and spoken about it to the media. But at the end of the day, they’re senior professionals from the film industry and they have been around much longer than I have.”So why the cold shoulder to Viveik?

“There’s only one person whom Salman has made his displeasure very clear about for which he has a very valid reason. I think he is very uncomfortable with his friends being around Viveik. Everyone knows about it because Salman has spoken about it.”That explains why Viveik chose to follow the SRK camp. Katrina is all set for the release of her much-awaited musical venture ‘Yuvvraaj’ opposite beau Salman. “The role is a wonderful one of a cello player. I was told to play the cello in the film like I was dancing. I moved my fingers the way I would use my feet to dance and it worked. The scenes came out great. Anyway I had a great teacher to show me how to play the instrument.”

The lovers chemistry seems to be actually working out well for movie, “It’s great to be paired opposite someone who you know and who has been close to you. This film is a little more special to me in the sense that it is looking very good. It has a good story and it is a film which I think is going to be on celluloid forever. It has the makings of a romantic classic.”Well, can’t really predict the fate of the movie, but looks like Viveik is soon to vanish from the big screen!

Will the Khans save Bollywood?

Hindi film industry’s fortunes are tied to three major films featuring Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan and Aamir Khan to be released next month.

December could well turn out to be the crucial month for the Hindi film industry. If Bollywood’s three forthcoming films starring Aamir Khan, Salman Khan and Shah Rukh Khan in Ghazni, Yuvraaj, and Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi, respectively, become commercially hit then 2008 may prove to be a good year for the Hindi film industry, especially at the time of the economic slowdown.

Releasing in December, Rab Ne Bana Di Jodi…is a Yashraj film featuring Shah Rukh Khan and the newcomer Anushka Sharma in the lead roles. Yuvraaj is a Subhash Ghai film with Salman Khan, Anil Kapoor, Katrina Kaif and others while Aamir Khan’s Ghazni is the re-make of a superhit Tamil film.

Surprisingly, despite a poor start at the beginning of this year, so far, 2008 has seen about 8-10 per cent increase in the box-office collections of the top 10 Hindi films compared to those in 2007.

According to film experts and leading trade portals, these numbers are based on the overall box-office collections including those reported from the overseas market and from the sale of TV rights, among others.

This means, that the top 10 Hindi films released this year — among them, Singh Is Kinng, Jodhaa Akbar, Race and Jaane Tu Ya Jaane Na, have generated more cash at the box-office than the top 10 films of 2007 like Om Shanti Om, Welcome and Taare Zameen Par. All eyes are now set on the three important releases of the three Khans of Bollywood.

“It’s a little early to bring out the calculators. But initial estimates are that Bollywood has so far seen over Rs 800 crore in box-office collections from its top 10 films compared to Rs 740 crore generated by the top ten flicks of 2007,” says a film analyst from Mumbai on condition of anonymity.

However, according to him, if the Aamir, Salman and Shah Rukh Khan films to be released next month don’t do well, then the 2007 story may look slightly better compared to the current year.

Says a senior executive of a Delhi-based multiplex chain: “We suffered a dip in the box-office collections because of Indian Premier League earlier this year. A lot is riding on Shah Rukh Khan , Aamir and Salman Khan films and we expect the audience to come to the theatre to watch them.”

Last year, it was Om Shanti Om (November 2007), Welcome (December 2007) and Taare Zameen Par (December 2007) that made the cash registers ring for the Hindi film industry. “We are hoping for an encore with the three December releases this year,” says a trade analyst.

Salman Khan’s new love affair

Salman Khan is known for two things in Bollywood- his bad boy image and his flamboyant love life. It looks like the lover boy is back with a controversy. The news is that apart from Katrina, Sallu is now also concentrating on Bruna Abdullah- a Brazilian model who’s trying to make in big in B-Town. Reportedly, the news was confirmed when Bruna was repeatedly seen with the lover boy at parties and later, at his farmhouse! Their romance came to life when they met at a party and Salman promised her a role in his brother’s forthcoming venture. Also, Sallu assured her a lead role in his forthcoming period film and appointed a Hindi teacher as a help. Bruna too fell for the caring side of the bad boy and believed in whatever he said.Fortunately or unfortunately, his lady love, Katrina found this out and warned him for his behaviour.Probably, Salman’s strong love for Kat forced him to quit Bruna’s company and their love story came to an end. However, this proves that his four-year old relationship with Kat means the most to him!

Salman talks more about SRK, actor in tears during interview

Salman Khan has been doing his round of interviews in preparation of impending release Yuvvraaj, and has once again taken the opportunity to bash his once good friend Shah Rukh Khan.

The hurt within Salman’s heart was once more noticeable in his interview for Mid-Day newspaper. When asked as to why he was telling his family members to keep away from Shah Rukh, he denied saying this, “No I haven’t told them that. If they want to participate in SRK’s family events they are more than welcome to do that. But don’t you think that it’s a kind of a joke that from one side it’s straight from the heart from one family and from one family it’s straight from the brain? Oh yeh Salman ke behalf pe aa rahe hai so he (Salman) looks like a fool. Yeh sabko bulaya gaya, yeh sab aayenge, they are all here, so Salman must be wrong. Because my family is socialising at SRK’s family events!”

Salman then went onto state that it was Shah Rukh who told the media about their little disagreement. “As soon as Shah Rukh left the party, he started calling up the media! I didn’t speak till one week after the fight because he was trying to put me in the middle of something which is not cool from any angle! That is the time I stood up and started speaking. There is no reason for disrespect. Everybody messes up. I have messed up also not once but so many times, without any malice, any manipulation or agenda. If things go wrong between two buddies we say ‘okay buddy let’s hang out together and sort it out’ but if you are going to mess up and disrespect me then forget it,” said a tearful Salman.

Responding to Shah Rukh’s statement of Salman only thinking with his heart, he says, “The right side of my head is my heart. I will always do what is right. I am human man! I am trying to be human. I have lots of flaws but I am taking care of that. But there are some things I don’t have jealousy, incompetence, insecurity and maliciousness. I don’t have a temper either, though I may get angry. And if I am wrong, I have the courage to call up and apologise. Say sorry and I am fine. What I say is what I do. I don’t say something and do something else and think of something totally different.”

Fellow Bollywood actor Sanjay Dutt has offered to mediate between the two but Salman has refused this. Why? “No. I don’t want anybody playing mediator. Whatever I had to speak on SRK, I said it then straight out. It’s SRK’s choice to say whatever sweet things he’s saying now four months later.”

By reading the above comments by Salman one does feel sadness for him. Here is a man who has genuinely been hurt by a close friend. Here at RS we feel for Salman and hope that both he and Shah Rukh will come to becoming friends once more. After all this back-biting is not helping either of them.
