Bollywood actress Shilpa Shetty has injured her wrist and she doesn’t know when it happened. Doctors have advised her to take a three-month rest.Either it happened because I was practising cartwheels for my new action film or it could be because of the wear and tear that happens in weight training, Shilpa said. Despite the injury, the actress will continue shooting for the second season of reality show ‘Bigg Boss’ and the movie ‘The Man’.I’ll wear a long sleeve top for ‘Bigg Boss’ and I’ll wear a thick kada (bangle) for ‘The Man’, she said. While resting at home.Shilpa has decided to turn producer and her first production venture will be a high-budget action comedy. She says she doesn’t want to take any risks for the project. That’s the reason why I haven’t opted for top stars because getting their dates would be a problem. Besides, financers want filmmakers to cut down on costs. How can that be possible? I don’t want to compromise on the quality of my film to save a few bucks, she added.

What began as a random promotional quote from a Bollywood publicist, is now on the lips of one of Hollywood’s biggest heart-throbs. A year ago, *desi* publicist Dale Bhagwagar (who handled PR for the gorgeous Shilpa Shetty for the best five years of her career) was asked by a British journalist from Daily Mail, if he felt any Indian actress could play a Bond girl. He’d promptly taken Shilpa Shetty’s name. Today, Daniel ‘James Bond’ Craig is echoing the publicist’s words. After Dale’s comment last year, various websites and blogs carried out opinion polls on the subject, and Shilpa, with all the Celebrity Big Brother hype just behind her, topped the charts. The hoopla also created widespread speculation in India and abroad, resulting in rumours that Shilpa could be the likely choice for the next Bond girl. Months later and after the release of his second Bond thriller ‘Quantum of Solace’, in an interview aired on NDTV Movies, Daniel has echoed Dale’s words, stating, “I think she (Shilpa) looks great and has a killing figure, just right for a Bond girl”. This, coming from Bond himself, could be very flattering for Shilpa as well as her ex-publicist.But when we got in touch with Dale, he wasn’t too amused.

“Such developments are normal for a strategising publicist. I’d call it the power of good PR,” is all he replied. Some power, indeed!

Shilpa Shetty is roaming around with a bandage on her wrist these days as a result of a torn ligament. “I think it’s because of wear and tear due to weight training or it can also be because of the cartwheels that I was practicing for the film. My doctor has asked me to go easy for at least three months so I can’t shoot for the film,” said the actress, about her most ambitious project, a multi-star action film. All this has not dampened her spirits; she is now reading more scripts so that she can start working on a film for her home production. “It will be a script which is less complicated, less painful and not a multi-starrer,” said Shilpa, who now thinks that for a first time producer, a multi-star film is not a very good idea. “I couldn’t get dates from all the actors. It’s quite a difficult task. I kept my other projects on hold because of this film.

I realized that I had turned more of a producer and less of an actress, so now I’m going to turn that around and complete the films I’ve signed with other banners,’ said Shetty, who will get back to her multi-star film later on, the script of which has been written by Mushtaq Sheikh.

“It’s good that the film is on hold as it’s a mega budget film and due to recession and the global melt down, the financiers want us to cut down on the costs which is not possible,” said Shilpa who despite her injury was in the gym when she was interviewed by BT . “Arrey yaar, I’m just cycling,” remarked the actress! I guess some things never change!

You must have seen the hot and happening ‘Shut Up And Bounce’ track from Karan Johar’s ‘Dostana’, in which svelte Shilpa Shetty is seen romancing Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham. Well, according to well-placed sources, the shooting of the film was equally happening with lot of heat, sweat and ‘slipping’. Sources say that during the shoot, Shilpa had to put her arms around John but he had put so much sunblock on his bare body that her hands kept on slipping from him. In an interview to a news daily, director Tarun Mansukhani said, “We all put on lots of sun block on because it was sunny and we didn’t want to tan too much. One day, John put on so much sunblock that in the shot where he’s taking pictures of Shilpa on the bike, Shilpa couldn’t put her arms around him. She kept slipping and falling!” Shilpa added, “John had so much oil on him and every time I put my hand on his abs I would fall! I literally fell for John! I slipped and ended on my knees every time because he was chikna and slippery. Finally, I told him to wipe off some off the oil. But I’ve never seen anyone looking so hot as John.I would keep telling him ‘John, please go away you look so good that nobody’s looking at me.John’s got the hottest body.“We would work out a lot together at the same gym which was in the Miami hotel where we were staying.

Hot Shilpa Shetty is all set to Shut Up and Bounce. Yes that’s the song of Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana that has just come on air. Director Karan Johar said that Tarun and he and his entire team brainstormed tossing names of actresses who would be apt for the item.”We finally zeroed in on Shilpa because she has the best body in town,” Karan said. Karan added, “Shilpa has done a fantastic job but credit also goes to choreographer Vaibhavi Merchant and music directors Vishal Shekhar. Shilpa’s number will be the introductory song along John Abraham and Abhishek Bachchan.”Tarun said, “Shilpa was comfortable wearing anything for the song. We were to shoot the song in seven day but completed in four days flat.”Shilpa agreed to be a part of Dostana immediately because not only was it a Karan Johar production; it also had her favorite team of designer Manish Malhotra, Mickey Contractor for the make up and Latika for her hair.

And though her bag went missing, Shilpa along with Manish shopped at Gucci, Dolce & Gabbana and got herself ready for the song.

I enjoy both spirituality and materialism in the same breath. I love to wear my Versace dresses and diamonds. I’m not apologetic about enjoying the good things in life. Yet, for a more wholesome, fulfilled life, there’s no better way to happiness than the road to finding your inner God!

The cinema and television worker’s 2-day strike this week found an unusual victim in Shilpa Shetty. While other film folks just stayed away for an impromptu holiday when the film industry’s workers went on strike, Shilpa Shetty was caught in a peculiar situation. Coincidentally, she was the only major film star scheduled to shoot for a television programme. Bigg Boss, as it happened to be. It seems all other cine-celebs like Shahrukh Khan, Salman Khan and Akshay Kumar have gathered their loot and run home from the home medium, leaving the coast clear for Shilpa who has to fly down to Mumbai for the Bigg Boss recording every Friday, no matter which part of the world she is in.This Friday proved a nightmare. Unaware of the workers’ strike in the industry she flew from Singapore to Mumbai and drove all the way to Karjat for the shooting…. Only to be told that she may not be allowed to shoot. But before Shilpa could backtrack she was assured that a solution was being worked out even as she waited on Friday to record for the reality show.Finally, Shilpa was not seen by Bigg Boss viewers. Says the shaken actress. “It was quite a nightmare. I waited the whole day at Karjat for my shooting, and finally left without doing so. That’s why I was missing on Friday’s episode of Bigg Boss. So many people have been calling and messaging thinking I’m unwell or something’s wrong. But I couldn’t shoot because of the strike.”

Until just an hour before the Friday episode of Bigg Boss, the crucial eviction episode when this time, Sambhavna was evicted, Shilpa was told the strike would end and she would quickly record. “I was on standby till the last minute hoping that the strike will be called off in time. But by the time we got news of the strike being called off, it was too late. The Bigg Boss house-mate Sambhavna had to be evicted without my participation.

Shilpa Shetty, along with beau Raj Kunder, participated in the inaugural Formula One World Singtel Singapore Grand Prix held from September 26-28. The first Formula One event under floodlights had Fernando Alonso winning his first 2008 victory. Jackie Stewart and Niki Lauda, Fernando Alonso and Kimi Raikkonen, Damon Hill and his wife Georgie, and Jody Scheckter and Mika Hakkinnen were also present at the event.Recalling the event, the actress says from Singapore, “It was fantastic! The rush of adrenalin and the palpable energy was awesome! I had gone to attend the event on the invitation of Bernie Ecclestone (CEO, Formula One Management) Though Singapore is a big hub for Asians, I was invited through Britain (Shilpa had won the TV show Big Brother last year) not India though I cheered for Force India team.” Shilpa wore a French designer outfit, which she bought in Miami, when she was there for I had shot there for Dostana.Though Shilpa’s favourite is Lewis Hamilton, it was Spanish driver Fernando Alonso who won the game. Shilpa says, “It’s not important who won. I stood there like a fan watching the likes of Kimi Raikkonen and Lewis Hamilton start the race right in front of me.

I couldn’t get to meet them as just before take off they don’t meet people but concentrate on the run. I was excited just watching them up close and personal.”The actress who loves fast cars adds, “I am petrified of driving. However I might risk it on the racetrack. It’s a heady feeling to drive a powerful car with high speed.” After the finals on Sunday night, Shilpa went on a shopping spree with boyfriend Raj Kundra and her agent. “I have just bought lots of clothes, shoes and bags. I love shopping and can shop anywhere. It was great to have Raj with me.”

In sensuous skirts, bikini tops and hair streaked in bright pink, Shilpa Shetty was almost unrecognisable as she shimmered for an item song with Abhishek Bachchan and John Abraham in Tarun Mansukhani’s Dostana. If sources are to be believed, Shilpa swayed sensuously to the item number without charging a penny from Dharma Productions. On hearing this, Shilpa said, “I wouldn’t like to discuss the monetary aspect of the number. Karan Johar is a dear friend and I wouldn’t let money be an issue between us at all. It’s an extremely chic song with leggy movements. Since practically the whole of Miami lives on the beaches, the number was shot almost entirely there.” The song, choreographed by Vaibhavi Merchant had Shilpa lip synching ‘Shut up and bounce’ all over the beaches of Miami. When Karan initially approached Shetty for the number, she was reluctant, as she was getting into film production and she didn’t need to do an item number at that stage, no matter how good the offer was. But, when she heard the song, she agreed.
