Megastar SRK on Saturday thanked his fans and friends from Bollywood for supporting him amid controversy over his comments on Pak cricketers, which invited the anger of Shiv Sena. “I am very thankful to everybody who understood my point of view and said it. I even thank the people who have not been able to stand by me or say anything because maybe they have not had the time and maybe they are being prudent and don’t want to push the issue further,” Khan told reporters at a promotional event in Mumbai.

Bollywood stars like Abhishek Bachchan, Salman Khan and Bipasha Basu had come out openly in support of the 44-year-old actor on micro-blogging website Twitter expressing unity with him but there are some big names from the industry, who have remained tight-lipped on the whole issue, refusing to take sides in the war of words between Shah Rukh and Sena chief Bal Thackeray.

“All that has been happening over the past few days is very unlucky and sad! I believe that sports, arts and culture should be above politics,” Abhishek Bachchan wrote on Twitter.

A source said that we were shooting at Film City for a song when Akshay sprained his ankle. The dance step was difficult and he hurt himself badly while practising it. The shooting schedule was put on hold for some time.

As soon as his ma-in-law Dimple Kapadia, who was shooting in Film City for Patiala House, heard about it, she immediately rushed to check on him. She was quite concerned and was seen fussing over him. She immediately asked for a painkiller and instructed Akshay’s make-up man, Narendra dada to do a time-tested desi ilaaj (home remedy) of twisting and massaging Akshay’s foot in a particular manner for quick relief. Isn’t Dimple into candle business? So where did she hone the remedial skills? Quite a discovery, nevertheless! She also insisted that Akshay visit a doctor immediately.

As much as Akshay loved being looked after by Dimple, he was unperturbed by the minor sprain. Thackeray also added “Traitors, with the blessings of the Congress party, go ahead. Shiv Sena will not block you. Why our Shiv Sainiks should be beaten up and arrested?”.

Salman Khan has been signed as a brand embassador of innerwear brand Dixcy Scott. At the announcement, Salman Khan flaunts his X factor by fighting out boxing match and emerged as a winner at last. Rakesh Roshan’s magnum opus ‘Kites’ seems to be unlucky for the movie has been associated with umpteen controversies ever since it saw the light of the day. Be it the Hrithik-Barbara link-up, Hrithik-Sussanne’s reportedly failing marriage or an ugly spat between Rakesh Roshan and Hrithik – ‘Kites’ has seen it all. News has it that Rakesh Roshan lately approached Rajkumar Hirani to edit ‘Kites,’ which is all set for a worldwide release on 21st May.However, the latter straightaway declined the request. Talking to a news daily, a close source said, “This film that is Rakesh`s most ambitious venture has two versions.

The international version, as is common knowledge now, is being edited by Hollywood`s Brett Ratner because Rakesh feels Ratner`s sensibilities will make it suitable for an international palate.”An insider says that a couple of days ago, Rakesh Roshan approached Rajkumar Hirani to edit the Indian version of ‘Kites.’It is believed that ever since Rajkumar Hirani passed out of FTII (Film and Television Institute of India), Hirani has edited most of Vidhu Vinod Chopra`s movies before turning an independent director with ‘Munnabhai MBBS.’

As per the sources, Rajkumar Hirani declined Rakesh Roshan’s offer because he is already preoccupied with couple of projects. News has it that Hirani will be joining Vidhu Vinod Chopra in Los Angeles to finalise the scripts of ‘Ferrari Ki Sawari’ and ‘Munnabhai Chale Amrika.’ With Rakesh Roshan approaching him at the nth hour, Hirani could do nothing except politely declining the offer.

While husband Abhishek and father-in-law Amitabh Bachchan have already forayed into tv, Bachchan bahu is also contemplating a move to the telly.Though convincing Aishwarya at this stage of her career was not an easy job, but she will be hosting a show on national television.

The format is a chat show and the logistics are being worked out.Aishwarya’s debut is a part of a ‘family’ deal. A source says, “Right from the time they signed Amitabh Bachchan for Bigg Boss, the channel had decided to have Abhishek and Aishwarya as well.”

One, featuring Shahrukh. A source reveals, “Recently, Vivek has often been spotted around Shah Rukh and his new friendship could pay unexpected paid dividends. If everything falls in place, Vivek will share screen space with King Khan for the first time. Ra.One is a mega budget film with special effects and Vivek is aiming for the villain’s role.”

However, the role could still go Arjun Rampal’s way. “The original choice to play the villain was Shah Rukh’s close friend Arjun Rampal,” informs our source. “But Arjun is dealing with a back problem . The pain could mean that he might be unable to perform the required stunts in the movie.” Vivek has reportedly even given an audition for the role and is the back-up candidate. Vivek was aware that Shah Rukh’s Ra.One was going on the floors and was always around him to land some project by Red Chillies.

And he could just get lucky,” adds the source. Despite repeated attempts, both Vivek Oberoi and Anubhav Sinha remained unavailable for comment.
