Pakistani Pop Music Rules Indian Charts

Pakistani Pop Music is a very big hit in India. Junoon set the stage on fire when they first rocked India with their haunting Sayyonee in 1998. Later came singers like Ali Haider, Junaid Jamshed, Shehzaad Roy and Strings. But the best deal for Pakistani pop singers was entry into Bollywood. The Bhatt camp started it all when they got Junoon’s Ali Azmat to sing Garaj Baras for their movie Paap. Atif Aslam became a big big name in India after the phenomenal success of Wo Lamhe in Zeher, followed by Aadat in Kalyug. Pakistani rock band Jal is setting India on fire with their live concerts in big cities here. Sanjay Gupta took a cue from the Bhatts and roped in Strings to sing for his movies Zinda and Shootout at Lokhandwala. Bhatts keep on exploring the Pakistani pop stars to bring them home. In recent times they have brought Jawad Ahmad to sing for Woh Lamhe, Roxen’s Mustafa Zahid to sing for Awarapan, Shiraz Uppal to sing for Dhoka and latest is Kamran Ahmed who sung Lambi Judai in Jannat.

Seems like India is fond of musical intruders from across the border.
