Why Mallika and Kajol love Obama?

Obama seems to be getting on to the Bollywood women. Why else would films be made in Bollywood with him in the title? While Kajol and SRK have made some references to Obama in the film My Name is Khan, Mallika Sherawat is working in a film called Love Barrack where she has also posed with his cut out.

Add to that the fact that former Miss India and actress Neha Dhupia is also working in a film called With Love to Obama. “I am shooting for the film at Bhor with Rajat kapoor. He is one of the finest people in Indian Cinema. The team is good and we have a positive feel about the film,” she says. Neha was in the US on a TV show as well and we do hope that the US President also returns the love to our pretty women!

Farah Khan cried after seeing Shahrukh

Farah Khan saw estranged friend Shahrukh Khan’s My Name Is Khan at a special screening on Sunday morning. Director Farah Khan loved the film, and has been praising Karan’s work to everybody since. She told KJo how much she enjoyed the film and also called SRK who was not present at the screening. Farah admits, “Yes, I saw MNIK and I loved it! When I go to watch a film, I don’t scrutinise it like a director, but see it as aam junta.

Karan has made a beautiful film. He has moved away from his traditional style of films and made a very touching film. I thought Shah Rukh was brilliant in the movie and I called him up instantly after the film and told him that. We discussed the film for about half an hour.” At the screening, Farah was sitting with Karan on the right, and John Abraham on the left. She laughs, “Yes, John and I were like two mad Parsis sobbing our hearts out. In fact, John cried more than I did, and he used up all my tissues! MNIK has many tender moments. I was crying because it was a very sentimental time for me. I missed Karan’s dad Yashji.”

When asked why she didn’t see the film sooner at Karan’s special trial, the previous night, she adds, “I sleep very early. So does John. That’s why we were the only two people to attend the technicians’ screening in the morning.”

Aishwarya, Akshay port 70’s look

Vipul Shah’s ‘Action Replay’ goes back to 1970s. Therefore, the hair styling of the actors was also done accordingly. Akshay and Aishwarya were dressed up like that of the 70’s. Hollywood famous make-up artists Paul Pattison is assigned for the job. Says Vipul, “Since we haven’t copied our 1970s look from Hindi films, Akshay and Aishwarya sat down to look at real- life footage from the decade to get the look right.

They specially looked at television footage of live cricket matches in the 1970s. Akshay was busy peering at the pavilion of audience, what they wore, how they spoke moved their body language. That’s how he conceived his character in the 70s. That’s where Paul Pattison’s wig came in.”Vipul further adds, “We were very particular about the 1970s look recreated at the Nitin Chandrakant Desai’s studio in Karjat. We needed the cars from the 70s which we had to get from all over India from private owners at a very heavy cost.

The BEST buses in the 1970s were very dissimilar from their counterparts today. Getting authentic BEST buses from the 70s was the hardest part of the whole era-recreation. Getting Akshay and Aishwarya to go retro was the easiest thing. They had a ball getting into their wigs clothes and body language.”Akshay is working hard to look very alike of the 70’s not only in style but mannerism also.

Amitabh Bachchan wears air-conditioned dhoti

Bollywood superstar Amitabh Bachchan believes in “When in Rome, do as the Romans do” and he followed suit while in Kerala freshly by donning the local dress code – a crisp white shirt and “air-conditioned” dhoti, as he puts it.”Keeping in tune with the phrase ‘do in Rome as the Romans do’, I order some Unusual crafted dhoti and sari to be worn…The sari, of course, for the ladies in the house,” Amitabh posted on his blog www.bigb.bigadda.com Sunday night from Cochin.”So, I wear the dhoti or mundu as it is more colloquially known for the evening and I think there is an appreciation of it,” he added.

The 67-year-old was also ecstatic by the whole procedure while tying the wrap-around. “The ‘dhoti’ in all its perfect glamour, tied up around the waist by sheer will power and some dextrous use of the stomach muscle, else it slips down and opens up! It is just a piece of cloth, no buttons, no belts, no clips, nothing.”Simple, elegant, convenient and with its own characteristic charm and above all – air conditioned at all times.

The fall of the main design as a strip down the front to be positioned on the right hip and just around the right knee. Rules of culture,” he added.
